Enjoy this easy peach cobbler any time of year, since it's made with canned peaches and Bisquick baking mix. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect sweet dessert.
29ouncecan sliced peaches in heavy syrup (partially drained, see instructions below)
1 1/2tablespoonscornstarch
3/4teaspoonground cinnamon
1/4teaspoonground nutmeg
For the Topping:
1cupBisquick baking mix
3tablespoonssugar
1/3cupmilk
1/4cupunsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a deep dish pie plate with nonstick spray.
Drain off 1/3 cup of the syrup from the can of peaches. Add the remaining peaches and syrup to the pie plate. Sprinkle the cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg over the peaches, then stir until combined well.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together Bisquick, sugar, milk, and butter until smooth. Scoop rounds of batter over the peaches.
Transfer dish to the preheated oven. Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the topping is lightly golden-brown.
Remove from oven and let the cobbler cool for at least 10-15 minutes to allow the filling to thicken up some more.
Serve warm or let it cool completely. We love to add some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top!
Notes
A 29-ounce can of peaches is a big can of peaches. You can also use two 15.25-ounce cans.
The filling will continue to thicken as the cobbler cools.
Leftovers should be covered well and refrigerated.
If you don’t have a deep dish pie plate, you can use a 9x13" baking dish, an iron skillet, or a 2-quart baking dish.
