This fresh strawberry sorbet makes use of the season's bounty in the most delicious way! It's easy to make in the Ninja Creami, requiring just a few ingredients, so you can enjoy a refreshing treat that's perfect for spring and summer.
3cupssliced fresh strawberries(approx. 16-oz container of berries)
1/3cupgranulated sugar(or monk fruit sweetener)
1tablespoonfresh lemon juice(optional)
Instructions
Combine sliced strawberries, sugar (or monkfruit sweetener), and lemon juice (if using) in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is pureed.
Pour the puree into a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful to not exceed the max fill line on the container.
Close the lid on the container and transfer it to a level surface in the freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Remove pint from freezer and take off its lid. Place the container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, then secure the outer bowl lid. Transfer the outer bowl to the machine, locking it into place. Press the Sorbet button and allow the cycle to complete.
Remove the outer bowl from the machine and check the sorbet's consistency. If it looks crumbly or powdery, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button to cycle it again. If it's still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of water to the sorbet, then Re-spin once more. It should be nice and smooth.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Lemon juice is optional in this recipe--I think it brightens the flavor a bit, but it can be omitted if you don't have any on hand. I've made it with and without, and it's delicious both ways!
Opt for the ripest strawberries you can find--you want them to be naturally sweet and juicy.
If you only have frozen strawberries on hand, I recommend following this recipe instead.
