How to Make Cheesy Slow Cooker Casserole with Frozen Hash Browns
It’s really easy to whip up this satisfying casserole.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Ground Sausage
- Frozen Southern Style Hash Browns
- Medium Onion
- Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Milk
- Garlic Powder
- Paprika
- Black Pepper
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
How to Make It:

Saute the sausage. First, you’ll cook the ground sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart and cooking until fully browned.
Drain excess grease and set the sausage aside.
Layer in the slow cooker. Next, you’ll lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker to prevent sticking.
Add 1/3 of the hash brown potatoes to the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle half of the chopped onions over the potatoes, followed by half of the cooked sausage.
Repeat these layers, then top with the final 1/3 of potatoes and half of the shredded cheese.
Prepare the sauce. Then, you’ll mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper in a separate bowl.
Pour this mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the slow cooker, then sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheese.
Cook and serve. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-5 hours, or until the potatoes are tender and fully cooked.
