Sweet & Salty Halloween Bark

One of the best things about this Halloween bark is how easy it is to customize.

Although the recipe calls for white candy melts, you can certainly choose milk chocolate melts or dark chocolate melts as the base layer–just keep in mind that the other colors may not be as vibrant against a darker background.

For add-ins, we went with classic candy corn, Halloween-themed sprinkles, and pretzel pieces for some salty contrast.

You could also add some Halloween M&Ms, candy eyeball sprinkles, salted nuts, dried fruit, or whatever sounds good to you.

It’s perfect for sharing at Halloween parties as a simple finger food snack, or you can package it up for gifting!

How to Make It:

Melt the white chocolate candy melts. First, you’ll add the white candy melts to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the candies for 30 seconds, then stir.

Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Spread the melted white chocolate in a lined 13×9″ pan or small baking sheet.

Melt and swirl. Next, you’ll repeat the melting process with each of the other colors, then spoon or pipe the colors over the white candy layer.

Use a toothpick, skewer, or knife to swirl the colors, creating a marbled look.

Add pretzels and candy. While the candy is still in its melted state, sprinkle it with candy corns, pretzels, and sprinkles.

Gently press them into the candy layer.

Notes and Adaptations

  • It’s important to work quickly when making this bark, as it will be difficult to swirl once it starts to cool. You can also choose to simply drizzle and layer colors rather than swirl, which will give you a bit more leeway during preparation.
  • Leftover bark can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Feel free to customize the bark according to your preferences! Halloween M&Ms, salted pistachios, etc. would all make fun additions.
