I grew up eating Knorr Pasta Sides (back when it was called Lipton Pasta Sides), as my great-grandmother used them as an ingredient in her famous Thanksgiving noodles that she made every year.

As I got older, they became a quick and easy side I could whip up when I was cooking for just one or two people. I’ve even cooked the Pasta Sides in the Instant Pot!

But these days, I like to turn the sides into a main dish dinner that can feed my whole family.

After making Knorr chicken and rice casserole and Knorr taco rice casserole, I decided to make a chicken and noodles casserole.

The ingredients bake in the oven, creating a creamy sauce that pairs well with the tender noodles and chicken. And in true southern fashion, I added a topping of buttery Ritz crackers for a crispy finishing touch.

It’s an easy dinner option that’s largely hands-off, but with plenty of comforting flavor.

How to Make Chicken Casserole with Knorr Noodles

It’s really easy to make this dish.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Knorr Pasta Sides (Chicken Flavor Fettucine)
  • Water
  • Evaporated Milk
  • Cooked Chicken
  • Ritz Crackers
  • Butter
Chicken and noodle casserole topped with ritz crackers, in a baking dish. Some of the noodles have been scooped out of the dish.

How to Make It:

Mix and bake. First, you’ll combine the noodles and their seasonings with some water and evaporated milk in a greased baking dish.

The evaporated milk helps contribute to the creamy sauce, but without adding as much fat as heavy cream would.

Give that a good stir, then add the cooked chicken. You’ll bake that for about 25 minutes.

Top and finish. Once the casserole has baked long enough for the majority of the liquid to be absorbed, take it out of the oven.

There will still be some liquid in the dish, which is okay. We just don’t want it to be too soupy, or the cracker crumbs will get soggy.

Add those buttered cracker crumbs as a topping, then pop the dish back into the oven for another 10-15 minutes.

Cool and serve. Then, you’ll remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. The sauce will thicken a little as it cools.

Then scoop out individual servings and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • This recipe is a great way to use up rotisserie chicken or other leftover cooked chicken.
  • This meal is best enjoyed when it’s freshly baked. However, leftovers can be covered and refrigerated for up to 3-5 days (the sauce will get absorbed by the noodles over time, so the reheated version won’t be as saucy).
  • I have only tested this recipe with the Chicken flavor fettucine variety of Knorr Pasta Sides.
