How to Serve Air Fryer Shake and Bake
Shake and Bake seasoned breadcrumbs have been a favorite for years, and the air fryer is a great method for cooking the chicken with the classic taste you loved as a child.
Serving these chicken breasts is as easy as preparing them. Here are a few of our favorite ways.
- As a main dish. Serve Shake n’ Bake chicken breast with your favorite side dishes for a simple dinner that everyone will love. Instant Pot green beans, Instant Pot potatoes and carrots, and broccoli cheese cornbread are a couple of our favorites.
- As chicken nuggets. Cube the chicken before air frying for delicious chicken nuggets (just be sure to decrease the cook time!).
- As a sandwich. Pile air fryer shake and bake chicken on buns with your favorite toppings for a crispy chicken sandwich.
- With pasta. Top with cheese and serve with pasta and marinara sauce for a quick chicken parmesan.
- Over a salad. Slice shake and bake chicken to serve over a salad. It can be served hot or cold.

How to Make Air Fryer Shake and Bake Chicken Breast
It’s really easy to make Shake and Bake chicken in the air fryer.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
- Shake and Bake Chicken Breading
How to Make It:

Prepare the equipment. First, you’ll preheat the air fryer to 375F and pour Shake and Bake seasoning and breading mix into the plastic bag provided in the box.
Oil the chicken. Then, you’ll coat each chicken breast with 1 Tablespoon of oil.
Bread the chicken. Then, you’ll add one chicken breast to the bag of seasoning and breading, and twist the bag closed. Shake well to coat. Remove to a plate and repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.

Air fry the chicken. Once the chicken breasts are coated with seasoning, add them to the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Close air fryer and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning chicken breasts halfway through the cook time.
Check for doneness and serve. Last, when an internal thermometer registers at least 165F and chicken breasts are golden brown, remove basket from the air fryer.
Allow chicken sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes and Adaptations:
- Cook time can vary slightly depending on the size and thickness of your chicken breasts. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it’s cooked through before serving.
- If you want to “dress up” your Shake and Bake, you can certainly add more seasonings.

Air Fryer Shake and Bake Chicken

It's a cinch to make Shake and Bake chicken in the air fryer! The outside is nice and crispy, while the inside is moist and tender.
Ingredients
- 2-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2-4 TBSP olive oil or avocado oil (1 TBSP oil per chicken breast)
- 1 packet of Shake and Bake chicken breading
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375F.
- Pour Shake and Bake seasoning and breading mix into the plastic bag provided win the box.
- Coat each chicken breast with 1 Tablespoon of oil.
- Add one chicken breast to the bag of seasoning and breading, and twist the bag closed. Shake well to coat. Remove to a plate and repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.
- Add chicken breasts to the air fryer basket in a single layer (if you're cooking 4 breasts, you may need to work in batches if they don't all fit in your air fryer basket). Close air fryer and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning chicken breasts halfway thorugh the cook time.
- Once chicken breasts are golden brown and an internal thermometer registers at least 165F, remove basket from the air fryer. Allow chicken sit for a few minutes before serving.
