When fresh summer peaches are finally at their peak and I have more than I can reasonably eat, I start making all of my favorite peach goodies.
Homemade peach butter is one of those simple, satisfying recipes that puts the extra fruit to work. And since it freezes well, you can hold onto the best flavors of the season just a little longer.
I love how the cinnamon and nutmeg balance the sweetness of ripe, fresh peaches. It really does feel like summer and fall collided in the best way possible.
Spread it over a warm, buttery biscuit on a slow morning, and you’ve got something that feels a little extra special without any extra effort.
And speaking of easy, this Crock Pot peach butter couldn’t be simpler to make. There’s no peeling involved, just chop and pit your peaches, toss everything into the slow cooker, and let it do the work for you.
A few hours later, your kitchen smells amazing and you’ve got a rich, smooth spread ready to enjoy or save for later.

Uses for Peach Butter
There are so many ways to enjoy this spiced peach butter!
Of course, spreading it over biscuits, toast, or English muffins is always a solid choice.
But it’s just as good swirled into oatmeal or yogurt! You can also spoon it over pancakes or waffles, use it as a topping for ice cream, or even add it to a charcuterie board alongside cheeses and crackers.
It would be a yummy topping for baked brie, too. Or use it as a filling for pastries or in between layers of cakes.
So many delicious options!

Cook the peaches. First, you’ll combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. Stir well to coat the peaches with the sugar and spices.
Place the lid on slow cooker and cook on the low setting for 6-8 hours, until the contents have deepened in color and peaches are very soft, stirring occasionally.
If necessary, leave the lid partially propped open during the last hour or so to allow more liquid to evaporate.

Blend and pour into jars. Then, you’ll turn off slow cooker. If desired, use an immersion blender to blend the fruit butter until very smooth.
For a chunkier fruit butter, you can use a potato masher or the back of a wooden spoon to mash the fruit.
Transfer to jars and allow to cool completely.

Notes and Adaptations:
- Recipe yields approx. 3 cups of peach butter.
- Refrigerate for up to two weeks. You can also freeze it in freezer-safe jars or containers.
- Serve over biscuits, toast, English muffins, dinner rolls, pancakes, and more! It’s also delicious as a topping for ice cream, oatmeal, or yogurt.

Recommended Equipment:
- Slow Cooker
- Freezer-safe jars – I love these quilted half-pint jars
- Funnel for transferring jam into the jars – I like this collapsible funnel because it stores in a drawer easily
- Ladle
- Dissolvable labels for jars – This are super handy because they wash right off of the jars
- Immersion blender or potato masher
