When you need something quick and don’t want to overthink it, an easy peach dump cake is a crowd-pleasing favorite.

Since it uses canned peaches, there’s no peeling or slicing, and everything just gets dumped together right in the baking dish. Using a boxed mix for the cobbler topping keeps the prep and clean-up really minimal, which is a win on busy days.

Once it bakes, the peaches develop into a sweet filling with just the right amount of syrup, and the cake mix and butter create a lightly crisp topping.

It’s easy to make, easy to serve, and always a hit, whether you serve it plain or add a scoop of ice cream.

Making a “Lazy” Peach Cobbler

One of the best things about this peach cobbler is how easy it is to tweak based on what you have or what you’re in the mood for.

If you like a little extra warmth, adding cinnamon or nutmeg to the peaches is an easy addition.

You can also swap the coconut cake mix for white or yellow cake mix if that’s what you have on hand.

For a little more texture, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top before baking. It gives the topping a bit of crunch that works really well with the soft peaches.

You can also add other fruits that pair well with peaches. Mixing in blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries with the peaches is a simple way to add a little variety.

When it comes to serving, I prefer to eat it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but it’s just as good with whipped cream or even just plain. It’s one of those desserts that you can keep simple or dress up a bit depending on the occasion.
