Easy Cake Mix Cherry Cobbler Dump Cake

One of my favorite things about this cake mix cherry cobbler dump cake is how easily it comes together. There’s no need to roll out pie crust, no complicated steps, and no need to be an expert baker.

You simply layer the ingredients in the pan, pop it in the oven, and let the magic happen! It’s the kind of dessert I can throw together at the last minute and still feel confident it’ll turn out beautifully every single time.

I love to add a splash of almond extract to boost the cherry flavor, but you can tweak the recipe a few other ways, too. Mix in a handful of chocolate chips, or add a layer crushed pineapple under the cherries for a fun tropical twist.

However you make it, be sure to serve it warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • You can assemble the cobbler ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake. Bake just before serving for best results.
  • Although you can technically skip the almond extract, it really enhances the cherry flavor, so consider adding at least a small amount if you can. It’s one of those ingredients where a little bit goes a long way!
  • To make gluten-free, substitute your favorite gluten-free yellow cake mix.
  • Leftovers can be stored, tightly covered, at room temperature for 1-2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
  • If desired, serve with fresh cherries on the side. Don’t skip the ice cream or whipped cream on top!
