How to Make Bisquick Pecan Cobbler

It’s really easy to make this dessert for your next gathering.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Unsalted Butter
  • Pecan Halves
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Bisquick Baking Mix
  • Milk
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Brown Sugar
  • Hot Water

How to Make It:

Layer the pecans. First, you’ll melt butter in a baking dish and layer the pecans over the butter.

Prepare the batter. Next, you’ll whisk together granulated sugar, Bisquick baking mix, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.

Add the batter. Next, pour the batter evenly over the pecans, but do not stir!

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the batter. Again, don’t stir.

Bake the cobbler. Last, you’ll pour hot water over everything in the pan, but do not stir.

Transfer pan to preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until topping is golden-brown.

The center will still be somewhat jiggly.

Remove pan from oven and let cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving warm.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • I like using pecan halves for this cobbler, but you can use chopped pecans if preferred.
  • This is a very rich dessert, so a small serving will go a long way. I like to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, but whipped cream would be a good choice, too!
  • The cobbler will be jiggly when it comes out of the oven–that’s because of the caramel sauce that formed under the crust. It will thicken slightly as it cools.

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Add butter to a 9x13" baking dish and place it in oven to melt while it preheats to 350F.
  2. When butter is melted, carefully remove pan from oven and sprinkle pecan halves over the butter.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, Bisquick baking mix, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the pecans, but do not stir!
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the batter. Again, don't stir.
  6. Pour hot water over everything in the pan, but do not stir.
  7. Transfer pan to preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until topping is golden-brown. The center will still be somewhat jiggly.
