Making Lemon Gelato in the Ninja Creami
I’ve made a few gelato recipes in the Ninja Creami, and they’ve all turned out really well.
For my Ninja Creami pistachio gelato and Ninja Creami vanilla gelato, I used egg yolks to create a custard-type base.
But for this lemon gelato, I wanted something a little less time consuming.
So I decided to use lemon curd, which gives the base plenty of sweetness and zippy lemon flavor!
Some of the flavor may vary, depending on which brand of lemon curd you use, but you can easily taste and adjust as needed.
I also have a recipe for eggless Ninja Creami strawberry gelato, which is worth adding to your list of recipes to try!

How to Make Ninja Creami Lemon Gelato
It’s really easy to make this simple recipe.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Cream cheese
- Granulated sugar
- Lemon curd
- Milk
- Heavy cream
- Yellow food coloring (optional)

How to Make It:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Blend the base. First, you’ll combine cream cheese, lemon curd, and milk in a small mixing bowl or large liquid measuring cup.
Use an immersion blender to blend everything together, then give it a taste.
If it needs a bit more sweetness, add in the sugar, blending well to combine (the sweetness may vary based on the sweetness of different brands of lemon curd).

Add heavy cream. Next, you’ll add in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
If you want a more pronounced yellow color to your gelato, you can add some yellow food coloring, but that’s totally optional.
Transfer the mixture to a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hours.

Spin the gelato. Last, you’ll take the frozen base and place it in the Ninja Creami’s outer bowl.
Close the outer bowl lid and place it in the Ninja Creami machine.
Press the Gelato button and allow the cycle to complete. Enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:
- Adding sugar will depend on your personal preference and the sweetness of your lemon curd. Simply adjust to taste!
- If your gelato appears crumbly after the first spin, you can put it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button.
- Although there are no egg yolks in this gelato recipe, keep in mind that lemon curd often includes eggs. If you have an egg allergy, double-check your lemon curd!

Ninja Creami Lemon Gelato
Perfectly sweet and full of lemony flavor, this lemon gelato is super easy to make in the Ninja Creami machine.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup lemon curd
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Optional: yellow food coloring
Instructions
- In a large liquid measuring cup or small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, lemon curd, and milk. Use an immersion blender to blend until smooth.
- Taste the mixture and, if needed, add up to 1/4 cup of sugar, blending well (sweetness will vary based on different brands of lemon curd).
- Add heavy cream and stir in with a spoon until incorporated.
- If desired, add yellow food coloring until desired color is achieved.
- Pour mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid. Transfer to a level surface in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
- Remove pint from freezer and take off lid. Place container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and secure the outer bowl lid.
- Transfer outer bowl to the Ninja Creami machine, locking it into place. Press the Gelato button and allow the cycle to complete.
- If the ice cream is powdery or crumbly after the first spin, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button.

Notes
- The lemon curd gives a very pale yellow hue to the ice cream. If you prefer a more vibrant color, you can use food coloring.
- I used Bonne Maman brand of lemon curd, but you can use the brand of your choice (or make your own!).
- Whether or not you add sugar will depend on your personal preference as well as the sweetness of the lemon curd you use. Simply adjust to taste!
- If your gelato is crumbly after the first spin, you can place it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button.
