Although some people think lemon desserts are only for the warmer months, I actually make lemon treats year-round.
Yes, they’re perfect for spring or summer, but I think they’re also a great way to add some variety to cooler months when you want a nice contrast to all of the sugar and spice sweets around the holidays.
I’m a big fan of Ninja Creami lemon sherbet and lemon gelato, but for this recipe, I wanted to try a lemon sorbet that’s fat-free and dairy-free.
This sorbet was a cinch to make, requiring just two ingredients: lemonade and lemon Jell-O. Talk about simple!
The combination of the ingredients ensures you get plenty of delicious lemon flavor and a nice, smooth texture.
It’s on my list of the best Ninja Creami recipes, and once you give it a try, you’ll see why!

Lemon Sorbet with Lemonade and Jell-O
There are several different Ninja Creami lemon recipes you can make, all with different ingredients.
Whether you’re using fresh lemon, lemon curd, or lemon pudding, there’s no shortage of options.
For this particular recipe, I wanted to use lemonade and lemon Jell-O. The Jell-O gives a nice, concentrated flavor and helps with ensuring the texture isn’t too icy, while the lemonade helps give authentic sweet and tart flavors.
I recommend heating up the lemonade before adding the Jell-O, as that helps it dissolve easier, but you don’t have to. If you don’t warm it up, just make sure you whisk it well until the powder has dissolved completely.

How to Make Lemon Sorbet in the Ninja Creami
It’s really easy to make this refreshing dessert.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Lemonade (I used Simply Lemonade)
- Lemon Gelatin (I used Jell-O brand)

How to Make It:
Find the full printable recipe available below
Mix the base. First, you’ll whisk the gelatin powder into the lemonade until it’s dissolved. Then pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.

Freeze the base. Then, you’ll close the lid on the pint container and transfer it to a level surface in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Then, you’ll place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami machine. Lock the outer bowl into place in the machine, then press the Sorbet button.

Once the cycle has finished, remove the pint and check the sorbet’s consistency. If it’s a little powdery or crumbly, you can pop it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button to cycle it again.
If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of lemonade or water, then Re-spin once more. When it’s nice and smooth, you can serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:
- Warming the lemonade before adding the Jell-O just makes it easier for the gelatin to dissolve. If you skip the warming process, just make sure you whisk the mixture until the Jell-O has dissolved, otherwise it may settle to the bottom of the pint container during freezing.
- To enjoy leftovers, I recommend allowing the pint to sit out at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften before scooping.
- I used regular lemonade (Simply brand) and regular lemon Jell-O, not sugar-free.

Recommended Equipment:

Ninja Creami Lemon Sorbet
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups lemonade
- 3 ounce lemon gelatin package (Such as Jell-O; you'll be using just the powdered contents, not preparing it first)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe liquid measuring cup or mixing bowl, add lemonade. Microwave for about 60-90 seconds to warm the liquid.
- Add powdered lemon gelatin to the lemonade, whisking well until the gelatin has dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid. Transfer to a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.
- Remove pint from freezer, take off lid, and place the pint into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami machine. Secure the outer bowl lid, then lock the outer bowl into place in the machine. Press the Sorbet button and allow the cycle to complete.
- Remove the pint from the machine and check the sorbet's consistency. If it has a crumbly or powdery texture, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button to cycle it again. If it's still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of lemonade or water, then Re-spin once more.
- Once the sorbet is nice and smooth, it's ready to serve!
Notes
- Warming the lemonade before adding the gelatin just makes it easier for the gelatin to dissolve. You can skip that step, but you’ll want to be sure you whisk long enough for the Jell-O to completely dissolve. If it isn’t fully dissolved, it may settle in the bottom of your pint container when freezing.
- To enjoy leftovers, I recommend allowing the pint container to sit out at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes to soften before scooping.
- I used regular lemonade (Simply brand) and regular lemon Jell-O (not sugar-free).
